8 Things to Avoid During Blogging

A blog is an excellent tool of building “You Inc.” Blog is nothing but a website that can be easily updated and intended to influence or inform. There are certain factors, which you must avoid while blogging for attracting the visitors to the blog, garner trust, increase revenues and heighten the exposure.

1) Unoriginal content – People never visit a site that does not have any interesting matter. In your blog, you must create original content and not regurgitated. Original content explores new ideas and provide a fresh angle or added context to the existing subject and is imaginative. If you lack creativity, then examine the subjects just beyond news and tell informative stories through offline experiences. Try to be unique, distinguished and pioneering. Also, avoid buzzwords and tired clichés that make the reading dull.

2) Inconsistent Updates – Be up to date and liberal with the weekly postings. Loyal readers usually read and return to the blogs for fresh and new content. Do not bother if you do not update the blog 3-4 times a week. Blogs take lot of time and if any, a little capital. If you can efficiently, use blogging as a business opportunity, then all the time spent on it is worthy.

3) Professional dress – Be personable in writing and admit to the idiosyncrasies, which are enjoyable to read. Avoid sharing any matter that can make the reader feel uncomfortable. Embrace the rational subjectivity by dressing business casual during blogging.

4) Ulterior motives – Join the club when you have any cross-promotional ideas or additional business ventures. However, do not let your integrity down by marketing your own economic interests that are of no value to the audience. Be genuine and authentic while blogging. Avoid over favorable commentary on your own business. This does not mean that you should not comment on your own ventures, but be upfront and honest while telling about it and avoid the PR fluff.

5) Giving in – State a formulated opinion and get controversial with the writing. Use push buttons, be snarky and get facetious whenever applicable. Disagreement should be in a way of encouraging progressive thinking rather than inducing an angry response. Take time to comment on a sensitive topic, and waiting for a 1-2 days before publishing the thoughts can make the heat to cool at the writing time.

6) Long post entries – It is a known fact that the online readers have a shorter attention than that of the print media. A typical reader stays on a given site only for 1-2 minutes. So, be straight to the point, avoid multi topic and focus on the bit-sized information. Shorter posts allow you to blog more. The more, the number of posts, the more people can find on the blog, thereby leading to an increase in the blog traffic and better SEO.

7) Absolute rule – Be democratic in the posts. However, opposing or critical the comments are, be sure not to delete them however tempting. Doing so will undermine your credibility.

8 ) Poorly written titles – The fact is that the blog with the most descriptive title enjoys the most traffic. Descriptive titles are simple and straightforward, they are neither cryptic nor ambiguous.

By avoiding all these, you can ensure that the blog can give the audience something worth exposure and reading.

Is Your Blog ‘Close Within a Second’ In The First View?

Well now a days there is more competition in blogging. Newbies create a new blog to teach the things which they even don’t clearly know about it. In fact, they make the content by collecting the views from other blogs and they even don’t care what actually they are writing about. And this became the very funny part of Blogging.

People Close Your Blog

Its very common to do such things because we get the inspiration from older bloggers who are mostly trained and experienced in blogging field. Getting into the point, while newbie (or even pros) creates new blog after getting the inspiration from other fields, they make some major mistakes which may take them to wrong direction.

They usually choose the design for their blog which makes it feels good only for them but not for their visitors and readers. So, I’m going to describe something which is very important to care about if you’ve just started a blog as a newbie.

What is ‘Close Within a Second’ blog?

What would you feel when you enter to a blog having worst design/layout and low quality content? Definitely you make take your mouse curse to ‘Close’ button of that browser or tab. Its called ‘Close Within a Second’ blog.

When you visit one new blog by tending to get some tips and if it has not good design then you may close that blog even without reading any words. No matter how much quality that article or content has.

Now a days there is much more competition of good themes for WordPress blog. Take an example of Thesis WordPress theme. Its popular for SEO and can be customized. But the two words ‘SEO optimized’ and ‘customized’ has been saved in the mind of most of the people. Meanwhile we never try some new creative that impress the readers and visitors that makes them to suck to our blog for long time.

If your blog has unpleasant appearance, they will never return to your blog in future.

The Solution

Choose the most professional theme and design for your blog. Don’t run after the Theme company unless you know everything in details what actually it do. If you don’t have a skill in basic coding language then you can use the simple theme which can be customized easily. As far as I seen many people use Thesis theme but some people are not using it in the right way. Some people got excellent design by using Thesis though. You might know too many ads, low quality contents, ‘dead post’ and bad design makes your first time visitor feel unpleasant.

You can ask for the review of your blog in some popular online forums to get feedback if your blog is comfortable only for you or for your readers as well.

Once you are free from ‘Close Within a Second’ group, you’ll start getting great amount of loyal readers and visitors.

Share your blog with us and be the honest person to show your blog is NOT ‘Close Within a Second’ blog.

I’m blogger can you help?

We as a blogger looking for tips and tricks from pro-bloggers always. And never thought of realizing whats going around us, because there are a lot of things going around us. We can blog about a lot things we even don’t know. Then why we’re always looking for tips from pro-bloggers? Even our family, friends can help us in blogging.

And do you every thing from where pro-bloggers get idea? Because it might not be possible to generate a tons of unique information every time. They are indeed compiling all the knowledge they are getting from every where.

That means the knowledge of all this offline + online world enabled them to produce that much quality content. And normal bloggers don’t even think to write any other thing then casual blogging. So we need to think that we can write any good thing we found.

So how non-bloggers can help us write?

Well If you think that you’re blogger and non-bloggers can not help you, then you might be wrong. Like if you’re a very sharp student of your class and you always get top position that does not means that teachers are help less for you. Because they are always teachers. Same as if your blog have high rankings and high traffic that does not means low or non-bloggers can’t help you. Every one have certain type of specific knowledge and capable to help so try to extract knowledge from every where.

Make your own

Like in offline world, people are bound to buy some products and materials like every one need food to live alive so food is basic need and people can’t live without buying it. But there is something different in online world you need to make your money your self no one is going to offer you any good help, I mean that no one here will share a real method to be rich you need to open your own ways and find how things work.

So don’t think that some one is going to give a part of work to you same for the money. Go on and try to learn things from every one and every where. Even a small kid can speak words of knowledge.

People will criticize you

In this world there are alot kind of people to be found who can’t be judged. Because they are so confusing. These kind of people are fond of not doing anything and giving alerts to other about about the results of what they are going to do. I mean that they are lazy people and wan’t others to be lazy as well.

Or there are some people who use something or try something and if they found it to be working good they don’t recommend it to others. Just saying its not good or just satisfactory.

In blogging same happen, people give ideas which they never applied them self (not every one). Indeed they are feared that others may get more then them. Where as they are not suppose to blog then. Because blogging means to help other. So its your own work to choose between right and wrong. Because there is alot of crap content online. See if you can find good one. !

– So I must say at last that if you take a close look on every thing happening with out you, you can write alot about them. I wrote a totally messed up post today. But it still leads to some meaning. Let see how comment section pop up regarding this.
